Yes, it uses the super capacitor instead of a battery.
What USB does this use for power, and what is the amperage needed to run the front and rear cams?

It is USB type-c, it requires 5V 2A to run the front and rear cam.
What is the maximum card the camera supports?

The camera supports cards up to 512GB.
Why is the time wrong in my videos?

Please set the correct time zone manually first, then the camera GPS will update the date and time automatically when it locks a signal.
Can I install the camera on another car?

Yes, the camera body can be detached from the GPS mount easily, and you can order an extra GPS Module for Viofo A229 Plus. If you have used the static sticker, you can also move the whole camera easily.
Can I add a cabin camera for my A229 Plus 2CH?

Yes, here is the RF200 Cabin Camera.
If my dashcam shuts off randomly, what should I do?

1. Please try the original car charger to test if the dashcam works.
2. Please unplug the rear cable to see if the front camera can work well alone.
3. If the front camera still shuts off, please plug the power cable into the rear port to test.
4. If the front camera works, then the issue may be the GPS power port, which needs to be replaced.
I changed many SD cards, but my dashcam still displays card slow, is there something wrong with my dashcam?

1. Please update the Firmware to the latest version first.
2. Please make sure the SD card you used is recommended by us. How to Choose a Right Micro SD Card.
I just installed the dashcam, but only the front camera works. Why isn't my rear camera working?

Please check if the rear cable is plugged into the right port.
The rear cable needs to be plugged into the side port on the front camera body. The top port is a power port for the front camera.
If there is no issue with the installation, please enter the menu to reset the camera to see if it is helpful.
If nothing helps, please contact the Customer Support to claim the warranty.
Why does my dashcam stay frozen in the red VIOFO boot screen?
