Yes. It is the most affordable way to get 3-channel STARVIS 2 coverage for rideshare driving. You get 2K front, 2K rear, and 1080P interior with IR night vision — all the documentation you need for passenger disputes, insurance claims, and safety incidents, at a lower price than the A229 Pro 3CH.

What is the difference between the A229 Plus 3CH and A229 Pro 3CH?

The Pro 3CH records 4K front + 2K rear + 1080P interior. The Plus 3CH records 2K front + 2K rear + 1080P interior. Both share the same rear and interior cameras. The key difference is the front sensor: Pro uses the larger IMX678 (4K capable), Plus uses the IMX675 (2K). If 2K front resolution is sufficient, the Plus 3CH saves money while providing identical rear and interior quality.

Does the interior IR camera work in pitch black?

Yes. The IR LEDs activate automatically when ambient light drops, switching to a high-contrast black-and-white mode that captures cabin details clearly even with zero light. Passengers typically cannot see the IR illumination, so there is no distraction or intrusion.

What resolution does each camera record at?

Front: 2K (2560×1440) at 30fps with HDR. Rear: 2K (2560×1440) at 30fps with HDR. Interior: 1080P (1920×1080) at 30fps with HDR and IR night vision. All three channels record simultaneously.

How much storage do I need for 3-channel recording?

A 256GB microSD card provides approximately 14–18 hours of 3-channel recording before loop overwriting. For full-shift rideshare driving, a 512GB card (maximum supported) extends this to roughly 28–36 hours. No card included — purchase a high-endurance card separately.

Can I swap the rear camera for a telephoto or waterproof camera?

Yes. The A229 Plus is modular. You can replace the standard rear camera with the RTC300 telephoto (2K, 4× zoom) or RWC200 waterproof rear camera (2K, IP67). This flexibility lets you customize the system for your specific use case without changing the front unit or firmware.
