Do I need the HK6 or can I use the older HK4 with my A329S?

The HK4 is compatible with the A329S for basic parking modes (auto event detection, time-lapse, low bitrate) and Cut-off Time protection. However, the HK6 is required for Hybrid Parking Mode, Cut-off Voltage protection, and Bluetooth battery voltage display. If you want the full A329S parking experience, the HK6 is the recommended upgrade.

Which fuse type should I choose?

The HK6 is available with six fuse type options: MINI (ATS), ATO (ATC), Mini Low Profile, Micro 2, Micro 3, or an 8-piece full set with all types. Check your vehicle's fuse box to identify which fuse type it uses — most modern cars use MINI or Low Profile fuses. If unsure, the 8PCS Full Set ($32.99) includes all types so you're guaranteed to have the right one.

Is professional installation required?

The HK6 can be self-installed with basic tools. It connects to your vehicle's fuse box using the included add-a-fuse adapter — no wire cutting required. You'll need to identify a constant power fuse (always on) and a ground point. Many YouTube tutorials and VIOFO's official installation guide walk through the process step by step. If you're not comfortable working with your vehicle's fuse box, any auto electronics shop can install it in 30–60 minutes.

What is the physical slide switch on the HK6 for?

The slide switch on the side of the HK6 sets a hardware-level voltage cutoff as an absolute failsafe. If the battery drops below this threshold, the HK6 physically disconnects power regardless of software settings. Important: set this switch to the lowest voltage option, then use the VIOFO app's Cut-off Voltage setting for precise control. If the hardware switch is set higher than the software setting, the hardware will cut power first.

Does the HK6 work with 24V truck systems?

Yes. The HK6 accepts input voltage from 12V to 24V, making it compatible with cars, trucks, SUVs, buses, and commercial vehicles. The voltage protection and Bluetooth monitoring features work across the full input range.

How does the real-time battery voltage display work?

The HK6 uses always-on Bluetooth to continuously transmit the vehicle's battery voltage to the A329S dash camera. The camera detects the signal automatically and overlays the voltage reading on the recorded video. You can see the voltage in real-time on the camera's screen and in the VIOFO app. This feature helps you monitor battery health and verify that parking mode is not causing excessive battery drain.

Perfect for neatly and permanently wiring the camera.

This was perfect for wiring the camera to both a switched and a permanent live to allow parking modes to be used as well as when driving the car. Really easy to install and it has an adjustable cut out to ensure that the battery does not get run down below the selected level. By far the best setup I have ever had with a dash cam. Highly recommended for a neat and reliable installation.

Worth the purchase

Well worth the purchase. No different to install than the HK4. The additional features that comes with the HK6 are what makes the difference. Comes with a lot of fuse taps. Wish it would have come with a three prong fuse tap.
