What dash cameras is the RTC320 compatible with?
The RTC320 is compatible with the VIOFO A229 Plus and A229 Pro front units (all configurations: 1CH, 2CH, 3CH). It connects to the Type-C rear port. Note: on 2CH or 3CH systems, using the RTC320 means disconnecting the standard rear camera since they share the same port.
How far can the RTC320 capture license plates?
With 4× optical zoom and the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor, the RTC320 captures license plates at 3–5 car lengths ahead under normal conditions. At night, STARVIS 2's excellent low-light performance maintains readability under streetlights and headlight illumination. No wide-angle dash cam can match this level of distant detail.
Where should I mount the RTC300?
Mount the RTC320 on the front windshield near the main front camera unit, pointing forward. Its narrow field of view is designed to capture the road directly ahead at a magnified perspective. Position it centrally for the best license plate capture angle.
Can I use the RTC320 and a rear camera at the same time?
Not on a standard A229 Pro/Plus setup — the RTC320 connects to the same rear port. However, the A229 Pro Tele 3CH package includes front + telephoto + interior as a 3-channel system with dedicated connections for all three cameras. The newer A329T series also supports telephoto + rear configurations.
Does the RTC320 support HDR?
Yes. The RTC320 uses the Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor with HDR processing, recording at 2K (2560×1440) 30fps. HDR ensures balanced exposure when capturing plates against bright headlights or in mixed lighting conditions.
Is the RTC320 compatible with the A329S series?
The A329 series has its own dedicated telephoto models (A329T). Check the A329T 2CH and A329T 3CH for telephoto configurations on the A329S platform, which adds Wi-Fi 6, SSD support, and advanced parking modes.
