What is the difference between the A229 Pro and A229 Plus?
The A229 Pro records 4K front (IMX678 sensor) + 2K rear. The A229 Plus records 2K front + 2K rear (both use IMX675 sensor). The Pro includes a CPL filter in the box; the Plus requires a separate purchase. Both share the same rear sensor, HDR on all channels, 5GHz Wi-Fi, GPS, voice control, and parking modes. Choose the Pro for 4K resolution, or the Plus for excellent 2K+2K value at a lower price.
Can I add a third camera to the A229 Pro 2CH later?
Yes. Add the A229 Pro interior camera module to upgrade to 3-channel recording (4K front + 2K rear + 1080P interior). The interior camera connects to the front unit and is detected automatically — no firmware changes needed. You can also swap the rear camera for a telephoto (RTC300) or waterproof camera (RWC200) on the same front unit.
Does the A229 Pro support parking mode?
Yes. With the HK4 hardwire kit (sold separately), the A229 Pro supports three parking modes: buffered Auto Event Detection (saves 15 seconds before and 30 seconds after an impact), Time-Lapse recording, and Low Bit Rate continuous recording. Impact-triggered videos are automatically locked to prevent overwriting. Note: the HK4 does not include fuse taps — purchase them separately for your specific vehicle.
Is a memory card included with the A229 Pro?
No. You must purchase a microSD card separately. The A229 Pro supports cards up to 512GB. Can I reuse accessories from my A229 Duo?
No. The A229 Pro uses a new Quad-Mode GPS module that is not compatible with the A229 Duo's GPS mount. The rear and interior cameras are also incompatible between the Duo and Pro/Plus models. The microphone port on the Duo has been repurposed as the interior camera connector on the Pro/Plus. You must use accessories designed specifically for the Pro/Plus models.
