Who is the A329T 3CH designed for?
The A329T 3CH is ideal for fleet operators, commercial drivers, taxi and rideshare services, delivery vehicles, and any driver who prioritizes evidence capture. The telephoto camera captures license plates at distances where no wide-angle camera produces usable footage — critical for hit-and-run identification, road rage documentation, and insurance claims.
What is the difference between the A329T 3CH and the A329S 3CH?
The A329S 3CH includes front + rear + 210° fisheye cabin camera (focused on interior coverage for rideshare). The A329T 3CH includes front + rear + 4× optical zoom telephoto camera (focused on external evidence capture at distance). Both share the same front and rear cameras. Choose A329S 3CH for interior monitoring, A329T 3CH for maximum external evidence.
Can I choose a waterproof rear camera instead of the standard rear?
Yes. The A329TW 3CH variant replaces the standard rear camera with an IP67 waterproof exterior camera. This is recommended for pickup trucks, box trucks, vans, and any vehicle where the rear camera would be exposed to weather. Both configurations share the same front camera and telephoto camera.
How does the telephoto camera handle nighttime recording?
The telephoto camera uses a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor with HDR, providing excellent low-light sensitivity. License plates remain readable under streetlight illumination, headlights, and twilight conditions. STARVIS 2's second-generation technology captures approximately 2.5× more dynamic range than first-generation sensors, keeping both bright and dark areas of the frame properly exposed.
What storage do I need for the A329T 3CH?
Three simultaneous channels require substantial storage. A 256GB microSD provides about 15–20 hours before loop overwriting. For fleet use, an external SSD is recommended: 1TB provides roughly 5–7 days, and 4TB provides over 3 weeks of continuous 3-channel recording. Always keep a microSD card inserted alongside the SSD if you use Low Power Impact Detection parking mode.
Does the Multiplex Video feature work with the telephoto camera?
Yes. Multiplex Video combines footage from the front camera and any selected secondary cameras — including the telephoto — into a single split-screen video file. This is especially powerful with the A329T 3CH: you get wide-angle context, zoomed detail, and rear coverage all visible in one file.

Excellent Camera

I was in the market for a new dashcam, and I watched the product head-to-head review on the YouTube channel ProjectFarm. The Viofo was spectacular, and the testing results led me to spending the extra money on this camera versus a competitor. Not disappointed at all. Clarity is amazing, and the telephoto lens is excellent. Make sure you get it installed as close to the center of your window as possible! (My first installer put it way off in the top-right corner of the passenger side, making it effectively useless)

Yeah, it’s pretty damn good…

Okay, the price is expensive, I’m not going to lie. For “just” a camera, I’m not very happy with the price. That being said, I AM very happy with the quality that comes with that price tag. EVERYTHING was packaged nicely and the box everything arrived in had plenty of packing for added protection. I got the feeling very quickly into opening that VIOFO obviously cared about the product they manufactured and therefore sold to customers. So that’s a point.

I bought this system for my 2025 Toyota GR Supra; a car that I obviously wanted supreme protection on. I love the 3-channel function and additionally that you can choose whether or not you want a telephoto 3rd lens or an interior cam 3rd lens (which would be the A329S kit).

Interesting thing - I ordered the A329T but chose the 0.15M telephoto cable. What arrived was an A329S box with a small sticker on it that said “A329T Telephoto Version” on it. The firmware on the camera inside that box was indeed an A329T, so the literal only outlier was the box lol. Not sure what the business decision was there, just thought that was kind of weird and funny.

If anyone is planning on running this system without an external SSD, I HIGHLY recommend you buy VIOFO’s SD card, or AT LEAST one that can handle 4k recording. I inserted an old one I had from a past vehicle of mine that was only best for up to 2k + 2k and my camera routinely tells me “Card Slow”. I did opt to purchase a Samsung T7 external SSD for the main recording and that works extremely well with the A329T.

Additionally, BRAVO VIOFO for not requiring a subscription to use their product in 2025!!! (Garmin I’m looking at you) There is something to be said about so-called “old school” functionality in the modern age, but goodness gracious is this a refreshing thing right here folks. This camera just does its thing in the background, REALLY WELL, and that’s exactly what I wanted.

Quick pro tip: if you have tinted windows, don’t even bother with the polarizer caps you can install. It will screw with the image processing and you’ll get massive rainbow effect.
