  • Would you be able to connect an external microphone?
    The A129 Plus doesn't support this feature.
  • How does the rear camera connect to the front? Does this cable come with the dashcam?
    It use the rear cable to connect with the front cam, the cable is included.
  • Why can't viofo 129plus choose 2k 60Fps resolution?
    To use the 2K 60fps, please disable the HDR feature.
  • How do I know if the parking mode is on/working? Does the camera LCD blinks any lights while in parking mode?
    There is a parking mode icon showing on the screen.
  • Is there any option for a filter on the rear camera for any of these models, or do only the front cameras get that benefit?
    The A129 Plus and A129 Pro rear cams support CPL filter.
  • Which SOC does the A129 Plus Duo use?
    It use the NT96670 chipset, the front camera image sensor is Sony IMX335, rear camera is Sony IMX307.

A129 Plus Duo Dash-Cam

My old Aukey DR02 Dual was starting to stutter and freeze after 7 years in 3 different cars, so I figured it was time for an upgrade.
Technology has moved on quite a bit in the past 7 years and my online searches showed that Viofo is in the forefront.
I really liked the stealth/wedge design of the Aukey dash-cam, and I must have checked out every major manufacturer of dash-cams while searching for a suitable replacement.
Finding that Viofo had the same wedge design that I liked, had me searching deeper. At one stage, I came across an issue and emailed Viofo direct. I got a satisfactory answer within 24 hours, which indicated to me that the support was also there.
Eventually, I settled on the A129 Plus Duo, as it ticked all the boxes as to what I required in a dash-cam. To eliminate any possible incompatability with memory cards, I also ordered the 256GB Viofo card to go with the camera, along with the CPL-100 filter to deal with the glare from the dashboard.
The video quality from the 2K front camera is stunning, and the Full HD from the rear camera is almost as good. It's hard sometimes to tell the difference between the resolutions on an ordinary PC/laptop.
I do have the Viofo MT1 Dual Channel Full HD dash-cam unit on my motorcycle for the past couple of years, and it has worked flawlessly, so upgrading my car dash-cam with a Viofo seemed a natural transition in hindsight.
I've only had the A129 Plus Duo for a little over a month now, and if it keeps working as it has over the past few weeks, I will be very happy.
Fitting was a breeze, extras/spares are available, and support appears to be good.
The app can be laggy, but if you don't expect it to operate at lightening speed - it works well.
From me, a full 5 stars for both my MT1 Dual Channel Full HD motorcycle dash-cam and the new A129 Plus Duo for my car.

The camera build is nice. Easy use and installation. Steps are pretty straightforward.
But the app needs serious work. Laggy/choppy. I wish they fix it and make it more User friendly!

My original viofo camera died on me after about five years. I needed a replacement and did not want to rerun a different cable for the front and back camera.And, since my original viofo camera was an A129 plus Duo, this replacement A129 plus Duo just required a firmware update and installation using the previous cables.
